Welcome, I’m Kristen Bolian, a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor committed to helping individuals navigate life’s changes with compassion and open-mindedness. With 15 years of experience in mental health counseling, specializing in substance abuse and addiction recovery, I provide a safe space where a client can explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth.
My approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interview, mindfulness, self-awareness, and solution-focused therapy. I believe in tailoring treatment to meet each person’s unique needs and fostering a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect.
I currently work with a wide spectrum of clientele. I have expertise in anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction and families affected by addiction, LGBTQ+ identity, and neurodiversity. Whether you are struggling with a substance use disorder, looking to develop coping skills for mental health symptoms, or seeking guidance through a life transition, I am here to support you. Together, we can work towards enhancing your well-being and empowering you to live a fulfilling life.
A paws-itive perk to working with me is that I am a certified therapy dog handler to 3-year-old Bodhi, a King Charles Cavalier, who knows how to give nose kisses at just the right time.

Hello there! Over the past eight years, I’ve honed my expertise as a therapist, focusing on how one’s identity influences their approach to life’s hurdles. I perceive the therapist’s role as a dual function – part guide, part mirror – assisting individuals in self-exploration while reflecting their unique strengths. Actively integrating client feedback into sessions is pivotal in fine-tuning our work for maximum impact. My core belief revolves around the idea that understanding our identity greatly strengthens our ability to navigate life’s trickiest challenges. I’m delighted that you’re considering Sane Space as a part of your path, and I’m eager to understand more about you.
